Ideal. I have two of these in light blue for my two boys, a size 8 for my son who will soon be 8 (he is average height) and a size 12 for my son who is 11 (also average height). They both fit well. The color is rich, very pretty. Great cotton shirt for summer, very happy with the purchase.

- The shirt gets dirty easily and is difficult to clean.
