TLDR: Order at least 2 of any size and you can get the suitable one, send the rest back. Edited after second order: I'm now fully convinced that I was an average child size on my first order. They barely reached the bottom of my calves while the big buns hung around my ankles. I sat there at least 6 inches longer. The medium one has the seams stretched over the hips, while the large one doesn't even sit on the waist but is big enough to rest on the hips. I would estimate they are at least 4-5 inches wider. That's an extreme size difference from medium to large. The medium seemed to fit more into the picture, although they were too short and too tight. The large ones fit like oversized bloomers that sit on my hips and the pockets start on the side of my butt instead of my hip. It looks like I have little cat ears sticking out of my thighs. LOLFFirst order: I always wear size 26/4-6 for trousers and size X-Small to Small for leggings. I have a very small waist and was considering a pear shape with hips and I chose these medium sized pants to keep them loose. They are so tight I can barely pull them over my hips. Crazy is Wednesday HERE on my 25 inch waist. and I had to pull my ankles up to my calves, which were essentially shortened to look baggy at all. They're cute and comfy, but the WAAAAA size runs larger! Unless my experience is an anomaly and my pants are the wrong size or they are average for a kid.
