This detector comes with detailed and mostly well-written instructions. On the other hand, the "Thank you for your purchase" card that comes with the set is written in the stupid garbled Chinglish that we all expect from goods sold in China. So the manufacturer must have paid to have the instructions professionally written in English, or copied the text from another metal detector's instructions. It's good; Nobody needs obscure instructions for a product their life may depend on. The detector itself appears to be in good condition, at least based on its self-test. It should be noted that unlike some other combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, this one doesn't have a recorded voice telling you which of the two things it's detecting when the alarm goes off. Instead, there are various patterns of beeps and LED flashes. But I believe this is not a big mistake; If an alarm sounds and you don't see or smell smoke, you can assume it's carbon monoxide. (Or you can spend a few minutes looking for instructions and browsing the Feature Descriptions section. I strongly recommend not doing this.)
