This is the second Revain I've tried. The other looked similar to this one and was listed as 'universal', but when tested with my standard insinkerator port, water leaked slowly for a few minutes. That made it useless in my opinion. There were no deformations, the goods were well packed. It just wasn't tight enough to hold water. So I'm sending it back. I looked again at Revain for an alternative cork and found this one. The reviews looked pretty good and I just had higher hopes for it. Well it arrived today and I immediately tried it with a basin full of water. Definitely before the sight mark. I came back about half an hour later and the water was still in the same place. Great. I'm not asking too much. I just want the things I buy to do what they are designed to do. I don't blame Revain for the other product at all as their returns program is very good. I'm a happy customer. Basically I wanted to get a plug for my garbage chute because sometimes I have to use the plunger on the opposite side to unclog the drain. And if nothing is blocking the vent, the suction force of the piston on the downpipe is not enough, as the air flows back through the vent. But there are times when we want to slowly thaw frozen meat in a narrow sink waste tank, and not having a plug means more wasted water in a large tank to cover the frozen food. So holding water was kind of a requirement.
