The only downside is that you will miss it so much as soon as you get in your rental car.

I've been using this product on a 4th generation Dodge Ram for a year now and I don't know how I managed without it. It sits at the perfect arm's length, the hand resting naturally on the center console and hovering in the air, waiting to be used, as if you're holding it in your hand, wrapping your thumb to click and your fingers around your back . When I first got it, I made a few modifications: I bought a Choetech T513 3 Coils Qi Wireless Charging Pad for Qi-enabled Devices - Black, which is a wireless smartphone charger, and I got a sticky velcro and attached Stand the wireless charger on the phone, and make sure it's in an area where you have the best wireless charging (you'll know this when you buy a wireless charger). I also cut out a small piece of wood, painted black, and glued it into the slot on the back of the phone holder that prevents the jaws from closing completely. I measured it so the jaws close an eighth of an inch less than my phone so I don't have to open the jaws every time I put my phone in, all I have to do is effortlessly insert it with one hand. Also, I believe I used longer jaws/prongs - with the thickness of the wireless charger and phone combined, the prongs barely protrude past the phone. If you do, be sure to buy a good fast charger and cable. Also, make sure your phone is compatible with wireless charging. I used black zip ties along the length of the flexible tubing to keep it tidy. This setup will mess you up. I just get in my truck and clip the phone to the cradle and it charges automatically and is easy to use while in the cradle. I'm happy to answer questions.
