I've been a big fan of the Porta Pro line for almost a decade. With mobile phones ditching the traditional headphone jack lately, I've only had to use my Porta Pro headphones for home and work use. Headphone design. The sound quality is exactly what you would expect from the Porta Pro. The build quality is slightly higher than the wired version in my opinion. I can't prove it, I don't want to do experiments to prove it, but the wireless model seems a bit more solid than my wired Porta Pro. Bluetooth range was generally better than my previous headset (which, ironically, is twice the price). For example, with my old headset, I couldn't leave the phone in my room and walk around the apartment without losing signal in a few spots. They had a strong clear connection almost everywhere. I'll have to do some more testing to see how far the connection will take me, but so far so good. Personally, I'm not confused by the cable connecting the headset. Sure, I think a lot of us have been hoping for a wireless Porta Pro headset, but packing all the necessary components into the Porta Pro's slim body would likely transform the look of this timeless classic. I think they made the right choice with the first generation Porta Pro Wireless. The design of the Porta Pro is beautiful and truly timeless. It's possible that one day there will be components that are affordable enough and small enough to be built directly into a headset, but right now the technology just isn't viable. However, the design path they have taken has some phenomenal advantages. Of course there is a wire. And of course you have two pieces of plastic dangling behind your ears. BUT since they have chosen to implement all Bluetooth components including the battery, you get longer than usual battery life and as mentioned the range is insanely good. The claimed battery life of 12 hours is correct. Very accurate. I received them early Saturday afternoon. I used them right out of the box without charging them all weekend. I left them on overnight because I fell asleep watching videos and when I checked they still had 80% charge. I didn't have to charge them until Monday afternoon. From early Saturday afternoon to Monday evening from the load they had out of the box. This included fairly heavy test use, leaving them on overnight, my morning commute to work, and essentially non-stop use until they died in the afternoon. Are they the absolute best, top notch, top notch? bluetooth headphones? no But Porta Pro never aimed to be the best in its class. They offer a proven product at a very reasonable price. Think of the wireless Porta Pro as an extension of that philosophy. The design and technology behind the headset is the same, you just get the added benefit of using a truly phenomenal headphone design with wireless capabilities. You won't find another wireless headset with the same sound quality, battery life, and Bluetooth range at this price point.
