This jug is ideal for large portions of iced tea. I simply measure the amount of liquid I need with a pitcher and brew it up in a large saucepan. I let the tea cool to room temperature before pouring it into this pot. This pitcher has a warning not to pour hot liquids into it. The glass is not tempered, so a rapid change in glass temperature can cause breakage. So if you're using it for iced tea, keep that in mind. The seal on the top seals the glass perfectly. The top of the lid pivots to aid in closing and opening the lid. This is great for keeping liquids inside and allows you to open the jug with ease. The top edge of the jug is curved to make pouring into glasses easier. It's a good size that makes it easy to pour. This item includes a glass jar and a plastic lid that fits over and seals the jug. Pros: * Inexpensive * Seals well to hold liquid * Easy to open * A solid piece of glass Cons: * Not tempered (-1/2 star) Additional Considerations: The handle is large enough for one hand, but it's also off Glass , so keep that in mind when picking up the container. It can be slippery. Brew your tea in a separate container or use a tempered glass container instead. Overall: 4.5/5 stars (>=0.5 round up, <0.5 round down) => 5 stars.
