Review on NMO 3 1 THICK MOUNT SO 239 ADAPTOR by Kenny Beyer

Motorcycle mount

This mount is very easy to use. Simply drill a 5/8 hole in the surface you are mounting it on, screw the two pieces together, tighten and you have an NMO mount. Opek does good things at reasonable prices. I installed it on a flat piece of metal that I bolted to the trunk of my bike and added the Comet 73BNMO antenna. No matter what rubber ducky antenna I use on my Kenwood HT, nearby repeaters just won't pick up my APRS packets. I think it's all trees. Haven't tried it yet but will post results soon. UPDATE: Works fine. There was also a nut to tighten with. The antenna is hand tightened and is rock solid. Drove at a speed of 70 km / h, without jerking. This is exactly what you need for a motorcycle antenna with NMO mount.
