I find them more pink than purple, both during the day and at night when the house is dark. However, they are very easy to connect and the controller is easy to use. There are many settings to choose from, including brightness and light patterns. The brass wire is thin, allowing you to position the light almost anywhere. The tiny bulbs look very dainty and stay cool hours after you turn them on. The overall effect is wonderful. I bought these for my sister in law who loves to decorate and is spending her first Christmas in her new home. When I gave them to her yesterday she had a big smile on her face and was fun to watch as she thought about where to use them. At first she wanted to use them in the fairy village she was planning, but since Christmas is just around the corner, she can use them for Christmas decorations right away. Those would be good too. And their list could go on. What a fun gift and I know it will keep her happy for a long time.
