Review on πŸ’½ Inateck FE3001 Aluminum USB 3.0 SATA HDD Enclosure for 3.5" Hard Drive by Napoleon Robbie

Absolutely brilliant hard drive case!

I bought two of these hard drive cases to breathe new life into my old hard drives and I think this is one of the best cases on the market. Here are some of my thoughts: Pros: - Quality. The body is metal with plastic ends. Since 3.5" hard drives can get very hot, I was concerned that buying a plastic case wouldn't handle the drive's heat. I'm happy to report that this case does its job well and has solid build quality too. The metal acts as a heat sink, so it heats up to the touch during operation. Nothing about the case feels cheap or fragile. It was very easy to get my old hard drives working. The product comes with everything you need to get started, even a screwdriver! It's as simple as plugging a hard drive into a SATA connector, screwing it to the frame, plugging it into the case, and tightening the whole thing up. - Price. For a few bucks more than plastic cases, I thought $25 for a metal case was a reasonable price, especially considering the benefits of a more durable metal case. - Power adapter. It's a bit of a nitpick in the end, but the included power adapter is a bit too big for me. I would have liked a smaller power supply, but I can't complain. All in all, this is a great hard drive enclosure to get your old hard drives working again. One more note: if you're installing a new hard drive in the enclosure, be sure to open Disk Management in Windows or Disk Utility in macOS and make sure the drive is initialized and formatted before use. Otherwise the drive will not work. I hope my review helped you!
