I'm so glad I chose Bates with the beautiful blue tassels!

Update: March 10, 2021 I have bought 2 additional sets. I have found that the time and effort put into reusing brushes after oil painting does not restore original effectiveness. The price makes it easier to replace than reuse. On the other hand, I've started using latex brushes and have found that they clean exceptionally well with soap and water. I recently decided to update an old dated guest bathroom and needed brushes to paint the cabinetry. I'm not a brush or painting expert but didn't want to spend a lot of money on brushes and the varied brush set was the solution that covered all my brush needs. This set includes a large brush for large surfaces and 2 narrower brushes for smaller surfaces, plus a 1-1/2" finishing brush that's perfect for the closet. I have a 2-1/2" brush with me Used Kilz Original Interior Oil Base to prime the cabinet and doors.I let it dry and later applied a second coat.I'm not the type of person to ask about staining but was impressed by how soft and absorbent the bristles were and how smooth the paint applied to them. I also liked not having to look for lost or runaway stubble hiding in the paint. The handle was firm and felt normal. I really felt like a pro after my husband checked my work.He liked the finish and was shocked that I had no streaks.Yes WITHOUT A DRIP!I would like to say it was a zen moment where hand and arm like one unit func tioned, but the truth is that the brush is probably a better painter than me. In a few days I'll take some paint and give you a refresher. Overall I am happy with my brushes and the price.
