I need an acoustically great WiFi speaker in this price range with BT. Pros: - Compact size - Preset buttons can be mapped to anything like Spotify playlists or radio - No power adapter required. It's built in. Can be configured as left or right channel or both. Cons: Doesn't sound any better than the Denon HEOS 3 or 1 I have (without BT). That's about 3 stops less clarity (if HEOS 8 has it, it's 5), definitely more confusion throughout the range, less presence and scene. The H3 and H1 are comparable in size, so their engineers did a much better job on the sound. Interfering WiFi keeps broadcasting (with hidden SSID) even though it is already connected to the main WiFi. It adds unnecessary Wi-Fi signal noise to my house, and since I've also thought about giving it to my son to take to college dorm, it's a showstopper; Fraudulent Wi-Fi transmissions are a major ban in many college dormitories. They scan and ask residents to turn off such devices. I understand that wifi broadcast is needed for the initial setup, but it should turn off afterward and it's easy to design.
