Review on πŸš— Enhance your Honda Pilot with the Metra 95-7861 Double DIN Installation Dash Kit by Jason Childs

Works, Fits Well: Radio Accessory

The 2005 Honda Pilot had a new navigation system (double din) installed to replace the original standard system. This kit with two side brackets and a front pad worked great. You will also need a connector to connect the vehicle connector to your new system, also available from Revain. The side mounts are plastic, they were originally metal but they seem to work fine. The instructions included are good, but if you want more information and people's experience, do a google search for something like installing a Honda Pilot double-din and you'll get a link to some very useful information. If you're installing a navigation system like me, be very careful that your satellite receiver, which will be mounted on the outside of the car, has enough cables to reach the main unit. Mine was about 16 feet long, but the Pilot is a long SUV, and by the time the cable runs from the back of the roof to the main unit, you've used up most of that length. I had to change the routing to make it work. Otherwise double check that you're fitting the new block before tightening those brackets on the side of the block as the way it sits in the pilot's dash is at a certain angle and if you're wrong the trim doesn't really cover the gaps around. new block right.

Pros
  • Designed and manufactured to precise tolerances so there are no gaps between dash and kit
Cons
  • Wrinkled
