This compass includes a fiberglass rod about 12" long, but you can use the trampolines on any 1/2" dowel or round stock to make larger arcs. Maybe for $15 total for this kit and a few bucks at the hardware store for the dowel, you can easily draw 3 foot arcs or 6 foot circles. I find it easier, more reliable, and more accurate than using string on one Mark the large curve with a pencil. The streetcar marker end accepts a pen, pencil, or marker up to a standard marker diameter, but the larger the marker tool, the more difficult it is to install. But once installed it works great.
