How to get that POS tank working when you need it. Do not buy.

It's long, bear with me. I bought this tank based on stars, not reviews. I should have read the reviews. I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND this product, but if you already have it or still insist on buying it, please read on. It does NOT work as advertised, BUT with a little diligence, more research and almost dead fish. , I got it working. Here are my recommendations. Main problems (I'll talk about solutions later): #1 Flushing with water doesn't work as advertised. If you pour just one cup of H2O, it shakes everything on the bottom, muddying the water and doing nothing to push out all the dirt. #2 Flushing just once a week will kill your betta. Since this reservoir is small, ammonia will accumulate. Your betta will become stressed by producing more ammonia. Your betta will die. Desire is a clear sign. #3 The cup provided is cheap junk plastic that drips. Use anything with a small spout or filling hole. #4 Tank and parts only fit together when full. Otherwise, they will look fragile and fall apart easily. It's almost like a weighted lock system. Solutions: A. Prepare your tank in time. I live in the north, it's getting cold, I bought an Elive micro heater and ran it for 2 weeks before I got my dick (Percival). I kept an eye on the daytime temperature to avoid frying the fish. It's a good heater if you're in colder regions, otherwise you don't need it. There is a cable slot on the back so everything can be connected together. Wash down with 1 glass of purified water daily. I fill and empty a liter jar with purified tap water. I keep it next to the tank. I use a beaker (it has a soft cast). Every day I add 1 glass of pure water. EVERY DAY! Provide some sort of block to disperse the added fresh water. I placed the suction sheet at the top of the waterline (the sheet at the top is recommended for men). When I pour fresh water, I pour it slowly on the leaf. This will help keep all the dirt at the bottom of the tank from kicking up. Since it's only 1 cup, Percy isn't shocked by the temperature change. He also seems to enjoy the choppy water (he always swims under the current when it's pouring) D. Don't block the drain hole with rocks. The bottom of the tank has a small circle of holes in the middle. Dirty water should be washed off here. Stack your rocks high up the sides of the tank, go down to the spillway and create a crater, so to speak. This actually helps direct the dirt down the drain, which in turn helps suck it out. DO NOT OVERFEED. Bettas don't need 3 meals a day, not even 2. Read a few blogs about feeding. Like most companies looking to make money, fish food companies encourage overfeeding so you use more product and therefore buy more product. Excess food clogs the reservoir, causes PH imbalance, etc. etc. I feed Percy a little at the same time every day and skip Sundays. Once a week I use a Birkenstock to push large debris towards the drain holes. It causes some crap, but not much. I do this about an hour before washing to allow the dirt to settle again. The overflow indicator really works. Don't check it, it doesn't look like an E on your gas tank. When the red bar appears, you are FULL. Remember that when rinsing, the water will continue to drain for 10-15 minutes afterward. So if the red stick is about to appear, you've got a puddle. I brush every day after every flush. It also falls off easily due to the way it's designed, so you'll want to wear it at an angle. I water my plants with it. Ever since I discovered these little tricks, Percy has been on the mend. The fins look great, bright color, no bucking, with lots of bubble nests. But find something better, do your research, google "elephant fighting fish" (they are so beautiful). PS: There is some debate about tank size and overfilling. Betta fish live in shallow water. You don't need a 10 liter aquarium. This tank is approximately 1 gallon. I have 1 small plant, 1 leaf, 1 moss ball. At night Percy likes to hang over the heater, during the day he seems to enjoy the space made for him. Judging by his current demeanor, I don't feel like he's uptight. I am not here to discuss the conditions of my betta but to suggest positive options for this aquarium.
