Old USB and Thunderbolt dongles were useless without a way to connect to USB-C on MBAir. Enter this device! The first test I ran was connecting to my portable LED projector with HDMI inputs. There I was in a dim conference room and I connected this 7-in-1 hub to my MacBook Air for the first time, thinking there wouldn't be enough light to tell which port on the adapter is for HDMI. I plugged the adapter into my MacBook and each port instantly lit up with soft blue LEDs. This not only confirmed that the hub was connected, but also allowed me to see the HDMI port at a glance in a darkened room. Well! I've only had the Gikersy adapter for a day, but last night in a dark room it justified itself. Other ports work as described and allow many other types of devices to be used. It would be nice to have an ethernet port, but I have a different adapter for that. Otherwise it works exactly as described, allowing many devices to use the single USB-C port that many laptops and some projectors now have.
