Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced Spark Plug - Motorcraft SP-502 by Jason Laney

1995 F150 Premium Spark Plug 302

Purchased for a 1995 F150 truck with 302 V8 and automatic transmission, K&N air cleaner, yellow Accel coil, over 150,000 miles. This platinum connector or the pure copper version of this connector will be listed as compatible with the motor. The copper plugs that I removed for maintenance were optically in perfect condition. I have read several expert reports online about the damage, benefits or losses of using platinum tipped spark plugs on my old truck. Prior to replacing the spark plugs, it was particularly difficult to route the cables so they didn't over bend, although they were recently replaced with Ford's 9mm race cables, even when following factory recommended cable routing. I ran them according to the sticker under the hood (.054 - .056) and put them on the threads with some anti-seize compound before driving 2200 miles. The truck runs very smooth with normal throttle response at idle and throughout. Partial throttle response and smooth launch from a standing start are smoother than before. The mileage has not changed, the performance on inclines and heights has improved slightly. I ride Sierras and Cascades a lot, with a few full throttle climbs at altitude in all weathers - the engine doesn't ping with those spark plugs and proper throttle/timing. I will change them again in about 35,000 miles when I still have the truck its lifespan is way short because I want to keep an eye on the condition of the engine and avoid stuck or loose spark plugs. Although your "mileage may vary", my truck's ignition system is easier to fire and does not cause starting problems. The truck starts a little faster, although it also started normally beforehand. Five stars for value and compatibility and you don't have to worry about replacing due to wear and tear.
