Review on Ciphertex CX by Doug Booth

It's easy to use with minimal configuration requirements. The software comes preconfigured for most NAS devices so you don't have to worry about configuring it yourself. It can be used as a standalone device or in conjunction with other products from Ciphertext like CryptoDrive. There are some features that I dislike but they aren't deal breakers by any means. For example, if you're looking at this product primarily because of its encryption capabilities, then there are cheaper solutions out there that offer more protection. We use CipherTex as part of our backup system which encrypts all files before we back them up onto tape drives (using another product). This allows us to comply with PCI DSS standards while still allowing customers access to their own backed up copies. This has been very helpful during audits where compliance issues arise.
