I didn't realize until I read some reviews that you can't machine wash. I've had it for 4 years now and have washed it several times a year (continuous press/heating). However, I have a front loading/HE washing machine, so it's more forgiving than older agitator machines. The only problem I have is that it feels like a "pill" like a flannel sheet. When it comes out of the dryer I just use a razor to "shave off" the pills and a roller of tape to remove them and they're good as new.
