Review on πŸ“· BD-0 Mini Ball Head by Oben by Darin Marshall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does what it should.

Great compact ball head - very small and light - easy to install and use. Got it as an upgrade for my mini slik travel tripod which came with a totally unusable and bulky pan head. This is the kind of head that should be included in a small tripod. If you have a travel tripod that isn't paying for itself, put one on and you'll find yourself using it more often. I was a little surprised at how small this head is. All this is put in a glass. With the head folded, the tripod's folded length increases by only 2.5 cm, making your compact tripod even more compact. It also means you can throw this head in your camera bag as a spare for other uses. Because it's so small and simple, it can even be used in a pinch to 'upgrade' the head to a ball head, which comes in handy when you need to borrow a tripod and end up with something bulky and slow. A ball head usually speeds things up if you know how to use it. I think it's also a great head replacement for that old broken tripod you inherited from your dad; that's enough for something light. What you will NOT do with this is hang your f/2.8 zooms from the front of your full frame case. Of course, you need a full-grown head for this. Best Uses: - Simple, compact tripods for travel - Spare head that can be slipped into a bag as a backup - Fast and dirty "intermediate" ball head that can be stacked on top of another head for non-standard use - Lightweight tripods Another review complained about the label, but I don't see that as a problem. The logo is on a red plastic sticker and if you wish you can remove it and get a completely black body. Simply use a mild solvent to remove residue. But it looks good with the red in it; looks way more expensive than it is. When it matters.
