Perfect for the Switchpod

Short version: this is the perfect accessory for a Switchpod. It is small enough to keep the setup nimble yet provides the exact functions I needed.Long version: I recently got the Switchpod for my Canon M50 and wanted a ballhead/quick release plate that did three things:1) Small size. The whole point of the setup is to stay small and nimble so I didn't want a large, complicated ballhead with lots of knobs. I wanted a ballhead/quick release that felt right at home on top of the Switchpod.2)…

Pros
  • Title says it all.
Cons
  • I used it for my APS-C DSLR camera and it's not stable and sturdy at all.

Small one not the big one like shown in pics

Perfect but just to let everyone k is this is the smaller one I thought it was the bigger joby trio pod from the pics but I should of read better

Pros
  • wish they were longer.
Cons
  • Inaccurate leveling

Great Product best in my review

Well built. Great accessory to have in camera bag. Bought before my last trip to Niagara Fall . ended up using this more than the full size tripod.

Pros
  • China
Cons
  • Does not work well with heavy cameras

has scew adapter! for my opinion

At first i was disappointed because the screw was too big (3/4"?) to fit on my camera (1/4-20). I was bummed because this product is so heavy duty and awesome and i would not be able to use it. Then i realized it had a small screw adapter over top a standard 1/4-20" screw! I took off the adapter and it works fantastic! Definitely recommend this over some cheaper model!

Pros
  • Works great with my Sony ZV-1 and the Joby stand
Cons
  • Awkward handle placement

Not durable: my feedback

The legs arent as durable as i thought. two of the sockets broke on me. If I'm paying $60 for a 14inch tripod. It better be durable and strong. not break on the first use. It's simply not worth the price. its worth $25 maybe $30 on a good day but not $60. Also these flexible tripods ware out very fast so DO NOT BUY it used.

Pros
  • Justo lo que necesitaba.
Cons
  • Limited range of motion

Not my favorite best in my review

I have other ballheads by Joby that I really like but not this one. It doesn't hole securely and I have other less expensive ballheads that work better. I would pass on this one.

Pros
  • Nice product. God one for my brother, formed and nephew
Cons
  • Awkward to adjust

For my sony A5000 it works like a charm

So I have the 1k body from joby and attached the 3k ball head. For my sony A5000 it works like a charm. It makes it look a little bulky but if you’re trying to even your shots they work well.

Pros
  • It was exactly what I needed and so easy to use.
Cons
  • Cannot handle extended use

Need a coin to tighten it.

Love it. Helps me get a better angle doing shots for transitions for my vlogs. Has a bubble level thing. And the top pierce can remove for quick release.

Pros
  • With its sleek, stylish design, the 1K Ball Head by Joby looks great and adds a touch of professionalism to your setup
Cons
  • Prone to wear and tear

Exactly what I wanted and needed

Absolutely love it! I’m glad it went with this one excellent quality. The level was the selling point for me when using with my phone. I love the art of simplicity to functionality and this meets both of those. Highly recommended

Pros
  • Load Capacity: 2.2 lb
Cons
  • Poor user interface

Great, but consider a ball head attachment or alternative

It was hard to use without a ball head. I had to buy one separately. You can make coarse adjustments with the legs but a ball head mount seems almost necessary to get a camera/phone oriented correctly and easily.

Pros
  • A lot better then the $20 tripod I had
Cons
  • Inconsistent performance

You get what you pay for!

This is a great ball head. I purchased one awhile back for my YouTube and twitch setup. I like how smooth the adjustments are on this unit. I liked it so much a bought another.

Pros
  • Ideal for desktop use with a DSLR used for vlogging.
Cons
  • Unreliable locking mechanism

Exactly what I needed.

This ball head was exactly what I needed. Easy to install and use. I wish all Joby’s gorilla pods came with Arca Swiss mounts by default.

Pros
  • It’s good and small. Strong enough for Sony A7riii with a medium lens
Cons
  • Shakes excessively

UPDATE: Doesn't work for very long

Update on 12/10/19:After initially thinking this item was incredible, I've now run into a problem. After using a mount for my iphone I decided I needed a ball head so I could turn my phone in different directions. I, of course, ordered the Joby ball head from amazon. It screwed right onto the Gorillapod with no problems but now about a month of using the set up the ball head will no longer screw into the Gorillapod 3K stand. No matter what I tried it didn't work. Of course the warranty has…

Pros
  • The ball joint allows for easy maneuverability, so you can change your camera's angle quickly and effortlessly
Cons
  • Limited availability

Super versatile, but how long will it last?

I bought this to use as a base for the Hohem iSteady Pro 4. This gives me the ability to do complex panning shots from various vantage points. So far it seems to work great, but I'm sure it will eventually fail. The question is, how long?

Pros
  • It very nice. I can set it up my phone at anywhere.
Cons
  • Takes up too much space
