Review on ๐Ÿšด Optimized for SEO: SunRise 50mm Depth Carbon Fiber Road Wheelset R13 Hub Clincher Wheels with Decal, Ideal Bicycle Rims by Kobby Fairchild

Revainrating 4 out of 5

That's a lot of green!

After sorting through a wide range of carbon wheels, America didn't go crazy. I chose them for 4 reasons. 1. They seem to have better hubs than some others for the same price. 2. They appear to have a 50mm wider aero fairing than others at the same price. 3. I have a bike in a color that suits me. 4. I can afford this price. I took measurements on my stock rim and hub to compare to them before I even started tightening them up. They came very close to my original rims. So I decided to give it a try. I installed them the first time only to find that I couldn't inflate them without a larger valve stem. So searched, found 60mm tubes and ordered them. I also posted a product question here to see if 60mm tubes would work. And got some answers. I was told that they would work with them. But then the seller responded and told me that the rims come with extensions, extra spokes, skewers and brake pads for carbon rims. Well I've seen all that other stuff. But I never needed an extension, I didn't figure out what it was. So, after I take the tires off again, I start pumping them up just with air hiss. But I can see the sensor going up, so I know they're starting to get air. So I pump faster to get more air before it comes out. And bust my foot pump lol. So I went online to find answers. One of them put tape on the steps. The other was a valve extension that moves the actual valve to the top of the extension for better air control. I've got the tape so I take them apart again, tape them on, put them back together and try to air them out. It's still dripping, but not as much. That way I can get her closer to where I want her and decide to just pressure her. I also order expanders that move the valve (pictured), I think this will solve my problem. I'll report back if that's not the case. So I finally got them on the road and ridden them for miles! I immediately notice the weight difference from how nimble my bike feels. I also pay close attention to the rims so that they roll smoothly and don't rub against the new brake pads. I have almost 200 km on it. I can safely say that I like her. The rear freewheel is noisy when idling. Sounds like a box full of angry rattlesnakes. But I don't mind at all. People can hear me go now. I only gave this 4 stars because I just received it. I just can't say I love her. A while. But I really like her. Glad I took the risk. Still worried about how long they will last. But with a one-year warranty, I feel a little more relaxed. I will post this review in a year or so if they are still correct. Thank you for reading. Problems = I am using a 9 speed Sora groupset and accidentally noticed the cassette moving a bit during maintenance/cleaning. I pulled out the cassette to find some nicks in the hub underneath. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the hub says 11sp. I remember seeing a spacer when I mounted the rim and secured it to the hub with the cassette reinstalled. After reconfiguring the rear derailleur to compensate for the stay, we're fine, the cassette no longer moves. I just wish it was only mentioned in the hints or instructions. Well at least you know before you install. I also used 60mm Continental valve tubes. Buying tubes with removable valves turned out to be nearly $5 more expensive. In any case, the only thing that keeps you from a 5-star upgrade is the lack of information about the spacer mentioned above. I really like the rims and will buy from this company again. Thanks for the helpful votes. It's nice to know that the time I spend on this is appreciated.
