These are the perfect starter puzzles. At this age kids need a little help, so having a background board with pictures that match individual puzzle pieces alleviates frustration and encourages hand-eye coordination. Our one year old is just getting into this type of activity, and it helps that she has an older sister (4) to guide her along. The three puzzles keep them both busy for a good while. On her own, there are just enough pieces per puzzle to keep our one year old’s attention.The puzzle boards are sturdy, and so are the wooden pieces. When not in use, we keep everything in the original plain brown box they came in—nothing fancy, but it’s sturdy and keeps the puzzles organized and easy to find. The box says the puzzles are for 3+, but I think the Ebay product description is more accurate—ideal for ages two through four.
