As I write this review, the EnviroKlenz Purifier is about 7 feet to my left and in front of me. At the lowest level you don't hear it at all. At the highest level, it's little more than a faint hiss. I wasn't sure if I would like the device in black but I'm glad I got it. It just disappears parked where I have it. It's also a cube of sorts that looks institutional, bland but with its front controls and LEDs so going for a lighter color is pretty pointless unless maybe it's in a very bright room with light furniture. I was unnecessarily concerned about the size as it seems less intrusive than any other air purifier I've seen. The design is deceptively simple, but the quality is high. The sheet metal body is of good thickness and precisely manufactured. Everything is closed. Nothing rattles. The device rolls smoothly and noiselessly on casters. The filters are easy to open and service as the back simply slides up and out of the guide channels. Instant learning shows that some thoughts sprang up about what others could do with a simple panel. It has a folded flat bottom to lay directly on the intended edge. Angled notches make it easy to snap into slide rails. The top edge is folded down widthwise for an easy and comfortable grip. Although it is not fixed in any way, there are NO rattles. No one. There is an interlock switch to prevent the unit from operating when the rear panel is not installed. No unnecessary rubber or foam pads, strips or gaskets (these are all elements of durability as they wear out over time) as the design doesn't require them. on two knurled screws. Again, no movement, no vibration, no rattling. Each of the UV lamps above the HEPA filter has a hood to protect them from dust ingress. The fan is located below the HEPA filter, has several metal blades and also looks high quality. Angle up and out. That means they don't blow surface dust around. Fan control is multi-level, not stepless, and feels positive and reliable. They greatly increase the benefit of filtering! The packaging is also of high quality. A box made of thick two-ply cardboard, fastened with staples and tape. The block is held in place with high density foam - no styrofoam here. Filters, lamps, etc. are safe and undamaged in the device upon delivery, but are packed and securely fastened. Everything arrived in 100% perfect condition. It's an expensive air purifier, but its build quality just doesn't compare to the ubiquitous blocks of plastic. It may look formal (perhaps a modern one would sound better) but it's also built to established standards and I expect it to have a very long lifespan. Intelligent engineering, quality assembly, superior filtration. Highly recommended! Update - the LEDs on the panel are pretty bright. No problems during the day, but at night I cover them with a piece of magnetic vinyl, which I put on when I turn off the fan for the night (the unit is in the bedroom). Also, there is MUCH less dust in the bedroom and the air is noticeably fresher when you enter the room. ]
