You can read my original review below (3 stars) to see what issues I had when I replaced my original drive connector with this unlicensed one, or you can just look at the pictures, click on which says "Upgrade". ", so check out the differences between my original socket and this one. It's NOT the same. I know they look very similar, but those little differences made ALL the difference! After spending MONTHS on a new socket messing around with my 5200 series machine After uninstalling and reinstalling it, searching online forums etc, I finally decided to try and get my original connector back (which wasn't originally broken - glad I kept it got!) and see if that fixes my horrible imbalance/noise issues "In short, it worked. My blender is fine again. With that outlet, it suddenly sounded like a bulldozer and started rattling against the counter at high speed. DREADFUL! I'm sure it wasn't good for my car! In any case, see the rest of the original review and my photos for the specs and details, but take my hard-earned advice and DO NOT BUY THIS if you value your Vitamix. Company direct and find out where you can get the real deal which should have the Vitamix trademark and part number on it (again, see photo). I think the partstown.com site sells all genuine OEM parts and this head is in stock. Much luck! We have a Vitamix 5200 (see photos for specs) that is about 5 or 6 years old and needs a new blade so I decided to upgrade all the parts and bought this. a new socket, even though our old one wasn't quite worn out or something. I figured why not do everything at once and breathe new life into the car. In hindsight I think it was a mistake because since I replaced the drive bushing the mixer hasn't worked properly. I mean it works but it's VERY LOUD and not balanced. The entire block will move across the countertop unless you firmly press the lid with your hand while mixing. I am so angry! Removing the old one and installing the new one was easy enough following the instructions but now I don't know how to solve this problem and I haven't found anything on the vitamix website that would help. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, always with the same result. I've experimented with a screw torque holding it in place but no change. I can not believe it. If anyone has any advice for me, I'm all listening, but until I can get a straight answer as to why this is suddenly happening, my best advice to all of you would be: DO NOT REPLACE YOUR HARD DRIVE SOCKET IF YOU REALLY MUST NOT! I gave 3 stars because the item itself appears to be well made and packaged well.
