Review on Sony SRS-XB43 Extra Bass Wireless Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Blue (Renewed) by Ada Wocial ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice product, happy with my purchase and may buy again.

I hope everyone understands why it became 2 times heavier. Large (slightly) speakers and a more powerful magnetic ferrite system in the woofer midrange (reminiscent of the ratio of the speaker diameter to the diameter of the magnet and a large voice coil like professional concert dins and auto subwoofers). Why: for a clear - fast response of the moving system (membrane), without "pulling" due to the low value of the BL factor. Such heads allow you to "blame" at full volume for hours without overheating the voice coils. But I repeat, this whole beautiful picture is spoiled by the presence of lateral emitters. To the large powerful and heavy magnets of the LF MF, add another HF, also on ferrite ones, which could be made neodymium for this price, without losing in characteristics but gaining in weight. Did Sony themselves at least listen to it after they did it in comparison with the XB-41? I doubt. In general, the column is good, but not without a wow effect. I see no reason for her to replace the XB-41 model, for the above reasons. This is something "different", such as the classification of crop and 35mm cameras, and even according to the filling of different levels, who in the subject will understand what I mean. at a low volume, up to 70-80% inferior to the sound power under equal conditions (ie where it stands) XB-41st. I personally advise you to buy it only after listening, or if you did not own (own) the XB-41st, you will like this one. The column is heavy, there are no obvious advantages in sound with the XB-41, so if you take it for hiking or cycling, it’s good from the word good, think about it.

Pros
  • - Pretty legible sound throughout the entire frequency range, not giving the impression that a small box is playing. - "Bottoms" are quite good, MF and HF are legible and not intrusive. Live mode sounds noticeably better than on the XB-41. - Loudness is adequate, but not as impressive as some might expect based on the 2x weight gain over the XB-41. - The battery holds for a long time, the declared fulfills. - At the maximum, it plays cleanly, does not wheeze.
Cons
  • - In reality, in terms of dB (loudness in decibels), it does not sound louder than the XB-41, as well as it does not really excel in bass, due to size compromises due to the fact that passive radiators were placed on the sides, now the speaker is Very important for a good sound pictures in the lower range, its location in the room, almost the same as for a stationary subwoofer, in the corner against the wall, in the XB-41 this "effect" is not observed due to the frontal location, and the bass is more "stable" it is especially audible if you wear her in her backpack. It seems that the XB-43 was made portable for the home. And as you know that for the home, there are better and cheaper options, for example, Harman Kardon.
