This is pretty much a design that lets you turn it on and off for an extended period of time. If you have a reason I have to put it on and take it off just a little bit, you will end up leaving it as it is a little tiring to put on and take off. It should be a tension clamp, not a screw, attaching it to the gimbal. The wing nut you use to screw the gimbal's neck will start banging against the collar. At this point you have to pull the wing nut head on the ring to complete the rotation while tightening and it's a pain in the back. It's hard to explain, but trust me, it's a pain. I ended up modifying the nut so I didn't have to fiddle with it as much, it needs a tension clamp which would make this product amazing.
