Review on AUTOSAVER88 Clear Lens Headlight Assembly for Dodge Dakota 1997-2004 & Durango 98-03 - Replacement Headlamp by John Vann

Custom installation, definitely not for beginners

These lights look nice and are quite inexpensive. I will stop there. I installed the kit on my 2002 Dodge Dakota. It took me 2 1/2 hours to install. I'm very mechanically inclined but these lights are just a poor design and had to be modified to fit. The outer driving/indicating light on the passenger side had to be modified the most. Of the 3 slots that contain the socket, 2 had to be expanded. This allows the socket to be clocked to the left. Otherwise, the wire harness will be pinched between the lamp body and the base. When installing the headlight housing, it needs to be lowered 1/4" to provide the necessary clearance for the top adjustment screw to come out of the fender. I heard a creak and honestly thought something was going to break as I was loosening the top adjustment screw screwed back into the fender. This setup is not for the average person. Definitely not a plug and play situation. I needed my truck and couldn't wait another week for another set so I had to modify them. There aren't any either Rings holding the headlight bulbs in the buckets. So take care of your old ones. I had to use hot glue to keep them from falling out. After a lot of extra work the lights look nice and are very bright.
