This is one of the worst "precision" rods I've ever bought. This would be more appropriate source material for someone to abandon and convert to final dimensions. Almost anything that could be messed up in these bars, they did. First the only good thing: the bars are chrome plated, but not on the ends and it's not a very good finish (more on that below). They are mostly straight. Very slight bending of the bars, but almost imperceptible. I don't have the right equipment to measure runout accurately, but now for the crappy stuff: 1. The length will be off by about 1-2mm. It's quite uneven, I see it visually with a regular ruler. 2.) The diameter does not match the specified one. I'm reading between 11.95mm and 11.96mm depending on where on the bar I'm taking the measurements. This is an order of magnitude higher than the specified tolerance. 3.) The ends are not square cut. They look like they were hand cut with an angle grinder. It appears to be about 10 degrees off square. 4.) The ends aren't even flat. It looks like they came in with a belt sander to "smooth out" the ends, but they went in several times at different angles so the ends are far from flat - there are hills and dimples on the ends . 5.) Worst bevel I've ever seen on a "precision" or machined product. As mentioned, it looks like they cut them freehand and then came in with a REALLY rough belt sander to clean up the ends and "bevel" them. Not only does it look crappy, but it's also very uneven around the circumference of the rod. Also, a few ends weren't even properly cleaned - there was a burr from their "finishing". a substance that looks like black crumbs. The finish is far from polished - it now looks like brushed stainless steel with scratches and dents everywhere. This could have been caused by the presence of sand in the bag, but I bet it was straight from the factory given the quality of other aspects. 7.) While the main shaft is chrome plated, the finish isn't very good. Also, the ends are not plated at all. It looks like their main stock of rods were plated and then they cut the rod to length. Higher quality bars are machined and then electroplated, so the electroplating is good. So DO NOT buy them, especially for the asking price. This can be suitable as raw metal if you want to turn it into a different size/shape. However, it is too expensive to be raw material. I would NOT want to use them for their intended purpose for linear motion guides. If it is a representative of the Twotrees brand, I will avoid all of their products in the future.
