Yes, it is a bit fiddly to assemble, there is a YouTube video with instructions, as with most coloring stamps. Helps a lot the first time. Once you've done that, you'll be able to play better with the colors now that you know how it's going to end. For the patches I used the piece left over from cutting out as a template to place the smaller patches that aren't attached and this made it a lot easier to get it right/accurate, just put the cut outs in insert the holes and glue, remove the template/cuts before the glue dries in case glue leaks out. I think a little effort putting them together is worth the end result. And if you have a lot of stamp pads (oxides, crayons or markers) you can customize the colors or make your own out of white cardstock. This is my first drawing that I consider as a draft, now I can play with colors. .
