I use this software for my data storage, it's very easy to set up with an array like WD My Cloud or Synology NAS device connected via NFS/CIFS share path configuration in Windows Server 2008 R2 (or newer).It is also possible that you can configure RAID 1+0 as well if needed but not sure about performance increase compared to single disk mode.

It works fine so far without any issues encountered during our two years usage period now. We are using Ceph Storage System which provides high availability by replicating all objects across multiple nodes thus providing continuous access even when one node fails out from service due to hardware failure etc.The only downside we have seen at present time is lack of support for encrypted diskspace within same file system object i.e., each folder under cephfs has its own encryption keys but there isn't provisioning option.
