Great for the minimalist student with a small laptop

If you bring nothing to school/work but a small laptop and a few other items, this bag is perfect for you! I was using a very large high school backpack that was just overkill for my college needs, so I decided to downsize it. I usually only carry a small laptop, a large planner, a small collection of stationery, a calculator and various supplies, and sometimes I take my textbook to class. Everything is nice and cozy but not crowded! The laptop and tablet slots are made of scratch-resistant material, which I wouldn't mind a pillowcase. The tablet slot isn't big enough for the width of my 11.6 inch laptop, but I wouldn't expect that. The tablet slot is big enough to comfortably fit a reading book or even a small textbook to keep the pages from wrinkling Between the two slots, there is enough room for my large planner and my large textbook, or my large planner and up to two small/medium ones textbooks. Laptop and tablet slots are provided. The lower writing pocket is large enough for a small collection of stationery, a standard calculator and a few other items stored outside of the pocket at the bottom. Can't rate the durability of the bag yet, but seems sturdy enough for a $50 bag. The straps are connected by a handle at the top, which I think will extend the life of the straps. The material appears to be semi-waterproof, but I wouldn't want to stand out in the rain with it for too long, while my only complaints are that the straps are a little uncomfortable with heavy loads and that the hidden water bottle pocket only fits small diameter water bottles about the size of a spray can , but you can cram in a little more. Overall, I would highly recommend this bag to anyone looking to minimize the amount of stuff they carry each day without sacrificing too much.
