Comparable to the Intel Core i5 - 2550K in terms of base performance, but significantly less capable of being overclocked. The addition of a video core significantly degrades heat dissipation, even though 22nm technologies appear to generate less heat than 32nm. Consequently, with the same boost to 4.4 GHz, the new 3570k is nearly 10 degrees hotter than the previous 2550k. If you don't need a video core, I wouldn't advocate getting it only for overclocking. I really think Intel should release a 22mm processor without a video component, and I hope they do soon.
