I've already ordered several LED multifunction lights and you don't even notice that they are on with the headlights. These lights shine up close and are projected onto the road. Under no circumstances should you leave them on in oncoming traffic, but if you're driving on dark, quiet roads, that's the penalty. I love them and recommend them.
