Love this purchase. Core i3 1005G1, 128GB NVME SSD and 8GB RAM. It feels very fast and responsive. Fingerprint login is very fast, which is one of the reasons I chose it over the cheaper Acer. I bought it for my wife as she only wants the most basic specs, but I didn't want to settle for anything less than a 10th gen Intl Core or AMD Ryzen 4000 series. I really wouldn't change the price , except that it had to have 250 to 500 GB of storage space. The OEM only pays $20 for a Hynix SSD, they could have spent $10 more for a larger SSD. My laptop has 32GB of RAM, but 8GB in this laptop doesn't feel slow at all. No malware from Asus. Preinstalled Office365 in three different languages is inexcusable for Microsoft. And why does it take 7 minutes to remove each language? Are they hoping that you'll get impatient and give up on the install lest it keep bothering you? Windows S mode is annoying and turning it off is the only reason I had to help my wife set up this laptop. Although Windows S mode could be the reason why there is so little malware installed. Pros: Ports! Wow how nice to have 4 USB ports and one of them is USB-C; NVMe SSD; 1920 x 1080 display with decent brightness. Core i3 is super responsive. Light and thin. Thin bevels. A very high quality plastic case that I like better than the aluminum HP Envy it replaced, which is much lighter. Great keyboard and trackpad. Cons: No wired RJ45 LAN. For the price, it beats my exceptions in everything except storage. 128GB is not enough. I'd rather upgrade the storage later than buy something else with a larger drive. The LCD could use darker blacks, but at this price point those are fine details. The viewing angles are worse, but that doesn't bother me and neither does my wife. The system resource counter showed memory usage at 70% and CPU usage at 50%. 70% memory usage is too much and means the SSD was used to swap the paging file. I had an 8GB DDR-4 2666 stick, so I replaced the 4GB DDR-4 3200 to upgrade it to 12GB of RAM. (See attached photos) It worked. Memory usage is now 50% for the same workload.

Pros
  • Windows 10 in S mode only runs apps from the Microsoft Store. To install an app that isn't in the Microsoft Store, simply sign out of S mode in three easy steps. There is no charge to exit S mode
