After reading some of the negative reviews I hesitated until I looked at other more expensive stands. Ordered first, delivered the next day. Second, EASY ASSEMBLY! My 10 year old daughter was able to put it together in 5 minutes or less! SERIOUS! Third, drill a hole in the center of the tree's flat, clean/freshly cut base. Next, I myself put the foot of the tree into the steel canister, the nail from the cylinder is put into the pre-drilled hole, starting with the third step. Fifth, tighten all four screws, once they hold the tree in place you can adjust the tree to perfect verticality. Sixth, cut the thread, leaving the wood open, fill the canister with 2 parts water to 1 part Sprite soda. The wooden base glides easily over the carpet. Hard surface felt pads are included. If you've read this, order a tree stand and if you're having trouble building, never try to make anything mechanical! For real! I'm real and I'm the toughest critic of junk products, rest assured and rest assured to buy this product. Merry Christmas! Our Redeemer is born!
