Our 3 year old (+3 months) son loved it for Easter. He needed a little help understanding the visual instructions, but mostly because he'd never built a "big Lego set for kids." This is a great intermediate option as it doesn't involve many steps, but it does require following instructions, 3D spatial awareness, and patience. Great creative kit. The only drawback are many little things. We've lost a flame and a piece of money so far. Also, we have to be extra careful when his little brother starts to crawl, since there is a certain risk of suffocation.
