Comes rolled like a foam mattress and vacuum sealed. Be careful when opening, there are many layers of plastic. The foam is already in a velvety shell, so you can start using it immediately. When I took it out of my pocket, it was almost completely inflated! I was amazed at how FAST he pouted. Full hardness appeared to be reached 15 minutes after opening. It is not a firm pillow to provide firm support in bed. It's soft and plush so offers some support in bed - very comfortable support I must add. But honestly, my favorite spot is on the couch. We pulled out couches and my legs hurt after a long day on my feet. The pull out sofa is good but my legs are not very high. I put this on the sofa footstool and my feet on it. and also. Heaven! I'm in love. I'll make lots of use of this between the sofa and my bed. It's cheaper than an adjustable bed and very soft and adorable! I only gave her 4 stars because she is so soft. I was expecting something much more durable and I think most people looking for a wedge for their bed are looking for a durable yet comfortable wedge. So I wanted to make sure others could see that it's soft. You've gone a little low. I personally love it. Even if my husband hates it.
