Pins and Plugs - Connectors and Adapters

I have worked with electronics for over 40 years. I find these metal pins and especially the female connectors too flimsy to work with. They rarely withdraw into themselves and often do not make good contact. Very unreliable. Since I unsuccessfully tried to make three jumpers, each of which failed in its own way, I'm not asking for their return, I'll most likely just throw them away. Instead, I bought ready-made sweaters.
