Speed dial

The manufacturer has tried to simplify telephoning and reduce the number of keys by integrating the speed dial function into the numeric keypad. The caller simply presses and hold any number on the keypad and after a few seconds the phone will dial the number you have programmed. That's a good idea in theory, but not a good idea in practice. The keyboard keys are soft and squishy, don't give any tactile feedback or a click to tell when they're pressed, and if you don't hold down a key for about 3-5 seconds, it doesn't speed dial a number. My mom just couldn't figure it out and panicked when she couldn't call me on speed dial like she had on her previous phone. Older people often cannot distinguish when and how hard a button is pressed, and cannot hold it down due to hand tremors. I will be returning this phone and looking for one that has a well labeled speed dial button that she can feel.
