Works but depends on your environment

I recently bought a new house. Before I sold my old house I hooked up this antenna and had no luck at all. My old house was mostly in the radio zone of the antenna. A huge tree dragged my house towards the nearest tower, which was originally very far away. I also lived near the airport and the naval shipyard. Given all of these factors, I already knew I had no chance of getting any channels. In my new home I didn't have much time to find the best spot for this antenna, but I was able to pick up a few channels just by placing it on the windowsill. I live in a very wooded area. My home is surrounded by 75 foot tall pine trees. The nearest tower is 30 miles from here. I downloaded the DTV antenna app on my phone. The application tells you which TV towers are nearby and in which direction they are. The window I accidentally put my antenna in only pointed to 1 tower. If I can basically get 2 channels without even trying, I'm sure I'll get a lot more once I find a more permanent place for them. There are so many variables that can easily affect the performance of an antenna. I think this is a good antenna but your surroundings might lead you to believe otherwise.

Pros
  • TV antennas
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
