Review on Yankee Candle 2 Wick Tumbler MidSummers by Chris Edgerton

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Pleasantly Scented, But Now Less Scented

This Midsummer Night was one of the most fragrant (if not the strongest) Yankee Candles. As I have written in many reviews on Revain and also on YC, Yankee Candles have almost lost their smell. Almost 20 years ago I saw these candles in a gift shop and bought my first (Ocean Water) and I was hooked. I actually became a crazy candle lady. Well, over time, YCs became less and less flavorful (and no, it's not my nose, I ruled it out). So I stopped buying them despite kicking and screaming. I now buy stronger-smelling candles from other brands, but miss the pleasant burning quality of YC. Anyway, I bought this candle on impulse thinking it might still have some smell since it used to be so strong. I burned it for the first time last night, within the recommended four hours for the type of large jar, and only got a whiff of the smell. This is the same as in the old days, but greatly toned down. Today I'm going to burn it again and see if I can smell it to save it. I hope I can make up my mind. And it has a really good stable burn - no tunnels, soot or anything like that. But what happened to the smell loss, Yankee Candle? (I called the company once and they just blew my mind). Update: I'm keeping this candle. I really enjoy it and its good even burn. I can smell him, but the smell is really a lot less than it used to be. It's probably still one of the strongest flavors Yankee Candle has to offer, even though most of them have just about every flavor available these days.

Pros
  • Pleasantly
Cons
  • Mostly Ok, But...
