I bought the "Scrappy Squares" pattern book that caught my eye in a quilt magazine recently. All patterns are well presented, with good instructions for easy sewing/appliqué. Instructions for needle or melt appliqué are included, as well as sewing instructions if you prefer wool for appliqué. Beautiful color pictures of all quilts will help you choose fabrics, but you don't have to limit yourself to the color schemes presented in the book. Each of the quilts can be made in a different color scheme (not pictured in the book). However, they are all the size of knees or a wall.
