Great buy for Durango

So there are many reviews of the Grand Cherokee but not the Dodge Durango, this is a review of the Durango. So we have a 2017 Durango SXT, one of the main problems we had was that when trying to pass someone on a dual carriageway, it sounded like you were almost on the red line but very slow to pick up speed to win. Not to mention the engine lag before we got to that point. I accidentally bought this kit because there were no reviews on Durango. So the quality is ok. Everything looks solid and should last for years. The installation was a bit fiddly. When disassembling the old intake I ran into the breather elbow problem. The easiest way I've found is to take a small screwdriver (flat head) and stick it between the PVC elbow and the hose and very slowly and carefully pry and work all the way around. If you take your time and don't have to break your elbow. After the old air intake was disconnected, the next small problem I had was trying to connect all the fittings for the main pipe. Not a deal breaker by any means, but I felt like K&N could have made it a little longer. I understand it's meant for two different cars, but it was a little awkward to connect the whole thing well and not sit on the edges. Many other users also claim that they have problems with AC power lines, they went to the local lawn and garden and found that the underground sprinkler rubber hose is similar to the diameter of AC power lines, split it and wrapped it on the AC line to prevent friction and friction . The last problem was the new installation of the air mass meter. It's a delicate little beast, and the position of the new grommet allows for maximum cable utilization. This is a very comfortable stretch. When I put it in for the first time, it fell out during a test run. I liked my finger and wet the sleeve, make sure you insert it fully. It's a little difficult to fully deploy. It seems exhausted. But there are more destinations. As far as gas mileage goes, other reviews seem to hit the head, averaging 2-3mpg. It was just an added bonus for us, now it's really picking up steam. Throttle response is vastly improved, you step on the gas and it goes. Fixed large deceleration and slow acceleration. The only real downside is the sound. This makes it sound amazing and really cool, but can get a bit annoying at higher revs on the Autobahn. You'll find yourself releasing the throttle to allow a downshift, only to stop the resonance from the engine bay. I can see where it might be too loud for some people and why some people hate noise. Overall it sounds like a beast, lifts and drives and improves gas mileage. Minor installation issues, but nothing crazy and no major violations. I recommend all V6 Durango owners *** Upgrade *** Have been using it for over a year, no problems with close access to MAF sensor. A must for all V6 Durango owners. Worth the price.
