Although this thing looks like a giant heatsink and says it has "excellent heat dissipation through the fins", IT IS PLASTIC. The plastic is an insulator, not a conductor, and the ribs do NOT go all the way through so they actually impede airflow. It's essentially a molded piece of plastic with built-in metal bolts to hold it in place. It fits perfectly and works well with SSDs that don't get very hot, but I wouldn't put a 15K SAS drive in it. No matter what the manufacturer says. for heat dissipation as full 100% BS. Don't use it if you need any kind of thermal cushioning or place it in a hot environment with low airflow. I also ordered two of these devices. With an ordinary hard drive, the screws worked fine and I had no problems with them. On the other hand, I had to rethread it because regular hard drive screws wouldn't fit. This $7.99 product is grossly overpriced considering it's just a piece of molded plastic with screw holes that sometimes work. I'll be using the two I ordered because sending them back is more hassle than it's worth, but I definitely wouldn't buy them again.
