SAMSUNG PRO Plus+ Reader 256GB microSDXC: $59.99 at the time of review I recently got a new dock for my MacMini to expand my storage options (my myopic Ordering 256GB of internal storage bites me again). One of the ports on the dock is a built-in microSD card reader, and this card from Samsung seemed like a great candidate to fill it up. *What I liked*: This is a direct sales package. I like that it includes a USB 3 reader (which will be important in a moment). It's a little tricky to open, so bring scissors. That's very fast for a microSD card. I didn't get the advertised maximum read/write speeds of 160MB/120MB, but I did get 150/99. One thing I want to keep in mind is to check your reader. Unfortunately, the microSD slot in my hub does not support microSDXC cards. So technically this card works, but my speed was limited to 20MB/20MB. It wasn't until I used the included adapter plugged into the USB-A 3.0 port on the back of my Mini that I was able to get faster speeds. *What I didn't like*: Some microSD packages also include a sleeve. but Samsung is not. It's not a problem for me as it's meant to be docked under my Mac. But keep this in mind as this is a tiny card and it's easy to lose it.*Summary:*Good storage always comes at a price. Usually two out of three are chosen: speed, more GB, lower price. In the case of this microSDXC, I really think you get all three considering the performance and professional quality. Five stars out of five. I would order it again, but not for my slow dock.
