Review on TrueCABLE Outdoor Waterproof Ethernet Cable with Shielding by Andrew Walton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Category 6a large shielded underground cable

Excellent cable cat 6a. It is very thick due to the extra shielding. Although it is not intended for home use. This is a special cable for specific applications. It will not fit standard shielded plastic or even metal terminals. It has a metal ground wire with a shield and a thread for trimming the plastic sheath. Wire gauge is the advertised 23 AWG, but the insulation is thicker than expected, so again it doesn't match traditional connectors. It does, however, mate with Revain's tool-less terminals. They're not cheap, but they make locking and working with the screen, drain, and thick insulation a breeze. As far as Category 6a cable goes, it's the cream of the crop once you know what you're doing and how you're using it. .As an alternative to the expensive RJ45 connector, you can connect it to a breakout box. In any case. We used this cable in a 250 foot underground line directly above another 480V line. The other cat 6 that was there deteriorated quickly and, as you might expect, picked up a lot of electromagnetic interference. It also suffered from moderate crosstalk. We had the option of running $1,800 worth of fiber optic cable in a conduit or trying it out. This cable saved the day! Speeds went from 18/6 (on a good day) to 58/42. No Crosstalk. No Emma. I'd like to believe my incredible electrical skills made this possible, but it was the quality of the cable. It is so good!
