UPDATE: Yes I still love this bread holder. Grow strong despite my clumsiness. I love the new updated Progressive Bread ProKeeper! I bought a couple of the original round valve "dial" versions and had a lot of problems with them, but this was the best. I have a family with a true gluten allergy. I have to bake my own bread or pay $7 for a tiny frozen bread full of holes or dry mild bean flavor. When my second original bread rack fell off, the huge hole made my decision to try the new version an easy one. The updated version is much better in terms of improvements. Pros: Much better ventilation! The updated grip is a huge improvement over the diminutive dial. Not only did the tiny dial not let in enough air to compensate for our humid environment, it was utterly useless to grab because it was too small to hold securely. The new stylus is large enough to fit all four fingers of my hand with some room. This benefit allows for better control of the box, allowing the two sides to open and close as they slide together and hold the loaf. There are more ribs on the bottom to keep my bread elevated which means better moisture control in the box. Better moisture control = less moisture = slower formation of gluten-free bread = more eaten = less waste. The magnet holding the cutting board on its hinges is a nice touch. There is a small lip on the outside of the magnet that serves as a small surface to open the box from that side. Holds up well when closed. Not too tight, not too loose. The white built-in cutting board is really not very practical. It's too small to hold crumbs, but that doesn't really bother me as the box needs a closable side anyway. The reason the cutting "side" is categorized as "outside" is because it's fixed and won't flop, move, fall out, and not have to be tracked when separated from the rest of the box. In my kitchen, the fewer "parts” I have to store, the better for me. The next element that has been improved are the legs. They are black, grippier and stronger than the original version. The last thing I love about this bread bin is that it's transparent so I can easily see what's inside, how much, and if I should be making french toast rather than sandwiches. (French toast needs drier bread to accommodate the egg.) Cons: Chances of crumbs ending up in the bottom layers of the two parts of the box. Instead of shaking out the whole box together, just take it apart and brush the crumbs off both surfaces. For me this is not a minus, but rather a feature. Definitely not a deterrent for my use case. The only real downside is that the vents are hard to adjust. You get either full ventilation or no ventilation. Without raising the handle to the open position, it hangs down and closes the holes. I would definitely recommend this bread maker to anyone who bakes their own bread. He did a fantastic job of keeping my gluten free bread mold free for longer. Yes, this is a very common situation with gluten free bread. I bought this product from Revain at full price with my money. I was not offered a discount or free product and was not asked to leave this review. I waited a few months before writing a review because I wanted to make sure I could leave an accurate review based on more than just my first impressions. With daily use I still love it and recommend it to all my friends.
