The hip belt can be a problem for normal height children. Elastic can be too tight and scratchy. This works for us as my child is tall and has a small waist. Most pants that fit his height are too loose at the waist. That waist hugs him even though his pants are long. The material is soft, but watch your waist. Has two pockets on the side and one on the back.
