These headphones are very good for sleeping. They're soft enough so they don't irritate the ear - a problem I've had with other headphones - and the cord is strong enough to allow for a bit of tugging, too. So they are really ideal for sleeping. They also offer some passive isolation, although not much, but enough to muffle some noise (e.g. light snoring). Sound quality is mediocre at best, but that's probably to be expected from a pair of cheap headphones.
